MASSAGE

Hawaiian Lomi Lomi , is the ancient art of Hawaiian therapeutic massage as taught by Aunty Margaret Machado of the Big Island . The movement of traditional Lomi Lomi is a kneading motion toward the heart using thumbs, palms or forearms. Lomi Lomi is both gentle and deep, making it adaptable to a broad range of therapies, including athletic massage and treatment of the ill and injured. Lomi Lomi relaxes and revives the body by moving blood and lymph, relieves muscle spasms and removes toxins from the muscles and connective tissue while soothing the nervous system. Lomi Lomi, is Rod and Karen's signature massage.

Thai massage

Thai Massage is an interactive manipulation of the body using passive stretching and gentle pressure along energy lines. These movements help to

  • adjust the skeletal structure
  • increase flexibility
  • relieve muscular and joint tension
  • stimulate internal organs
  • balance the body's energy system

The effect is uniquely relaxing as well as energizing. Receiving a Thai massage is a bit like doing yoga without putting forth any effort while also getting acupressure treatments!

Sessions typically last one and a half hours, and are performed on a floor mat with the client dressed in comfortable loose clothing. Thai Massage uses two primary procedures - applying gentle pressure with the hands and feet, and a wide variety of passive stretching movements.
